Container Equipment Library Guide
This library is a SeaRates-grade, ISO 6346 / CSC-verified reference of standard intermodal container equipment — dry vans, high cubes, reefers, open tops, flat racks, tanks, and pallet-wide boxes — with full dimensions, door openings, payload, and tare weight for each.
How to Use It:
Use the Search Equipment bar to jump straight to a type (e.g. "40HC", "Reefer", "Open Top", "Tank", "Pallet Wide"), or click a Quick Specs Benchmark badge at the top to filter by category.
Browse the equipment grid — each card shows a schematic, headline CBM capacity, and payload for that container type.
Click any card (or its View Details button) to open the inspection modal with full External/Internal dimensions, Door Opening size, Max Payload, Pallet Configuration, and Tare Weight.
Use Print Spec Sheet inside the inspection modal to generate a clean, printable specification sheet — useful for booking confirmations, RFQs, or client-facing documentation.
Practical Techniques:
Use Open Top (OT) or Flat Rack (FR) specs when quoting out-of-gauge or crane-loaded cargo — check both the internal clearance and the rated payload, since flat racks are often weight-limited well below their nominal cube.
Check Door Opening dimensions before booking equipment for machinery or palletized cargo with tight tolerances — the internal cube can fit a load that the door opening physically cannot pass.
Compare a Pallet Wide (PW) container's internal width against standard EUR-pallet footprints when the shipment is Euro-palletized — a pallet-wide box fits an extra pallet per row versus a standard-width dry van, cutting the number of units needed.
Compare Tare Weight against Max Payload for dense cargo (metals, stone, machinery) — dense loads often hit the container's weight limit long before the volume is full, so a lighter-tare 20DV can carry more usable payload than a 40HC.
Check the Reefer (RF/RH) temperature range against your commodity's required carrying temperature, and keep printed spec sheets on file — declared container tare weight is required for accurate VGM (Verified Gross Mass) submissions under the SOLAS container weight verification rule.

Operational Loading Notes & CSC Compliance:
Dimensions and payload capacities are standard reference specifications according to ISO 1496-1 and SeaRates benchmark records. Exact tare weight and internal measurements may vary slightly (±1%) by container manufacturer and shipping line fleet batch. Road gross vehicle weight limits (GVW) apply during inland drayage transport.
